A new ORA client is someone who finds you on ORA and books a first appointment. Clients you invite yourself do not count, and ORA does not guarantee new mandates.
For clients ORA brings you, the client pays a 15% service fee on top of your fee; ORA takes nothing from it. No ORA fee on clients you invite yourself.
Fair-use terms apply to unlimited plans.
ORA is not registered for VAT: no VAT is charged.
Trust, from the first click
Your data and documents are hosted in Switzerland. Your matters are isolated and access is limited to authorised people. Professional secrecy shapes your workspace.
The product has no general administrative access to case content. Exceptional access needs a written justification, approval by a second person, a time limit of twenty-four hours and a permanent record. The one exception: a message one of the parties reports to ORA, which staff may then read, that message only, every read being recorded.Understand our approach
Your data and documents are hosted in Switzerland, in Zurich.
Each matter keeps its own access scope. Its content is never shared automatically with other members of the firm.
Your messages and documents stay within the lawyer-client relationship.
Verification
Verification is done by a person, by hand, not by a machine.
We consult the cantonal register of lawyers that you name.
We keep the name of the register consulted and the date, so that we can evidence it.
Your profile becomes visible to clients once verification is done, and not before.
A rule, not a selling point
A Swiss lawyer may not share fees with a non-lawyer. ORA therefore charges the client for its own service, separately and in its own name: a service fee of 15%, paid by the client on top of your fee, as a separate line, and non-refundable. ORA takes nothing from your fee: the client pays ORA, which collects on your behalf and pays your fee out by bank transfer.
The mandate is between you and the client. ORA is not a party to it, gives no instructions, and does not intervene in how the matter is run.

Firms
A firm brings verified practitioners together under one name, shown on their profiles. Each one enters into their own mandates and remains responsible for them; clients, messages and documents are not shared between members.
Only a lawyer or a legal practitioner whose profile is verified can found a firm. You belong to one firm at a time, each firm has a single owner, and the ORA team checks it before clients can see it.
You invite a colleague by name if they are already on ORA, or by email address. Nobody else can use the invitation, and the person invited joins the firm only once their profile is verified.
The parties in each member’s matters count for the whole firm. A practitioner on the opposite side of a member’s matter cannot join it, and the refusal names no matter.
Once the firm is verified, the fees on the mandates you enter into are paid out to it by bank transfer, to the IBAN it provides. Until an IBAN is provided, clients can still book you. Only the payout waits. ORA’s service fee stays a separate amount.
A lawyer’s fees go to a firm only if a lawyer owns it.

Yes. Add your clients to the workspace to keep your matters in one place, track your time and bill. No ORA fee applies to clients you invite yourself.
Your profile lets people looking for legal advice find you and send you a request. You remain free to accept each mandate after your checks, including conflicts of interest. The volume of requests is not guaranteed.
The client pays by card: when they book a consultation, when they accept a fixed-price offer, then by weekly invoice on a time-based mandate. ORA collects these payments on your behalf and pays your fee out by bank transfer. It keeps only its service fee, paid by the client on top of your fee. Stripe’s processing fees are deducted from your payout. If a client disputes a card payment, the payout concerned is suspended until the dispute is decided. If you are VAT-registered, VAT appears on a separate line.
Your data and documents are hosted in Switzerland, in Zurich. Matters are isolated and their content is reserved for authorised people. ORA is committed to professional secrecy. The privacy file sets out the AI subprocessors, purposes, retention and access arrangements.
No. Matters are isolated: their content, messages and documents are not automatically shared with other members of your firm. Collaboration must respect the scope of permissions and the mandate.
The level of signature needed depends on the document, the procedure and the recipient’s requirements. Check them before sending: an electronic signature does not automatically replace a handwritten one in every case.
The trial starts when you choose a plan and enter a card. Unless you cancel, the card is charged on day 15 and the plan carries on. If you cancel during the trial, nothing is charged: AI, e-signatures, new ORA requests and client invitations are no longer available once it ends. Your ongoing mandates carry on: appointments already booked and their video calls, messages, documents and payments. Monthly subscriptions carry no commitment.
Every lawyer names the cantonal bar register they are registered with, and every legal practitioner (juriste) submits their Swiss law degree. An administrator checks the register or the diploma by hand, and we keep what was consulted and the date of the check. A profile only becomes visible to clients once that check is done.
It is only shown while the verification stands: if it is withdrawn, or the account is suspended, the profile disappears from results immediately. The date the register was last consulted is on the profile, so you can judge how recent it is yourself.
The client pays by card, when they book or accept your offer, and ora. collects on your behalf. Your fee is paid out to you by bank transfer once the work is done and the funds are available. For an appointment, that is when the consultation is over. For a fixed-price offer, that is when the client closes the mandate or, failing that, seven days after you deliver. For a time-based mandate, that is when the client has paid the invoice issued automatically in your name every Monday for the previous week, by link or by automatic charge. Nothing is paid out while a dispute is open. Stripe’s processing fees are deducted from your payout. If a client disputes a card payment, the payout concerned is suspended until the dispute is decided.
Ten minutes after the scheduled time, the appointment is recorded as missed by the platform, not by you. You keep your fee under the cancellation scale and the client is told. If you are the one who misses the appointment, your fee is refunded to the client in full, and instant booking is suspended for you for thirty days.
